Oakhill Cromford: Photography and Web Design
Oakhill in Cromford is a charming and historic boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Derbyshire. Recently, the hotel embarked on a project to revamp everything, changing its name from Alison House Hotel to Oakhill, and its online presence had to accompany this. As part of this effort, they hired me, operating as Phil Sproson Photography and 'Fern Creative', photographer and web designer to help bring their vision to life.
I was tasked with capturing the beauty of the hotel's interiors, exteriors, and food, and the results were stunning. I have previously photographed the building during the days when it was Alison House Hotel, and the transformation was incredible. From the grandeur of the hotel's common areas to the intimate coziness of its guest rooms, the photographs perfectly conveyed the hotel's unique character and style. The food photography showcased the exceptional cuisine served in the hotel's restaurant, capturing the delicious flavors and presentation of each dish.
In addition to the photography, as their web designer I was responsible for creating a sleek, modern website that accurately reflected the Oakhill's atmosphere and amenities. The website was designed with the user in mind, making it easy to navigate and find the information guests need to plan their stay. Search engine optimisation (SEO) was at its heart and making the transition from the Alison House Hotel website was a challenge, but the overall SEO strategy now ensures that it ranks highly in search results and is easily discoverable by potential guests.
The project has been a resounding success for the Oakhill, attracting new customers and increasing bookings. The professional photography and web design have aligned with their brand identity, with a cohesive and visually stunning online presence that is a true reflection of the hotel's personality. The search engine optimisation has helped the hotel to appear at the top of search results, making it easier for potential customers to find the hotel when searching for accommodation in the area.
Overall, the project has been a win-win situation for the Oakhill and all involved.
